2011 Drama Camp Final Week is Completed

Winder-Barrow Community Theatre ended their second week of Drama Camp on Friday, July 1st with a show for parents and friends. This camp is held each year in conjunction with the City of Winder and the Winder Cultural Arts Center. WBCT also received grants for Drama Camp from State Farm Insurance and Georgia Power this year as well as money from the Belk Charity Days. Over 62 students attended the second week of camp and had a lot of fun learning and performing.
Children ages 5 to 9 attended the morning sessions. Their final performance was based on 6 of Aesop's fables, and the children performed short skits that ended with "the moral of the story is ...". Older children, ages 10 to 14, attended each afternoon and actually wrote their own scripts for their one act plays. The theme for the older children was "Broadway", and they learned some musical hit songs in addition to writing and performing their plays.
